संग्रहालय के बारे में

1814 में एशियाटिक सोसाइटी ऑफ़ बंगाल (वर्तमान में 1 पार्क स्ट्रीट पर स्थित एशियाटिक सोसाइटी की इमारत) द्वारा स्थापित भारतीय संग्रहालय सबसे पहला और केवल भारतीय उपमहाद्वीप में ही नहीं बल्कि विश्व के एशिया प्रशांत क्षेत्र का सबसे बड़ा बहुप्रयोजन संग्रहालय है।
